EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Three individuals have been charged following a violent brawl during a street hockey tournament at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday. Colleen C. Biddle, 41, and Justin C. Pacheco, 38, both from Philadelphia, along with Robert A. Schafer, 38, of Maple Shade, Burlington County, each face charges of simple assault at a youth sporting event and disorderly conduct.
The altercation, which involved players and parents, was captured in videos circulating on social media. As a result, two teams and a coach from Maple Shade were suspended from the tournament. The American Ball Hockey Alliance, which is cooperating with authorities, confirmed that the incident stemmed from teams visiting from out of town, and emphasized that it does not reflect the behavior of the host facility or local teams. The Maple Shade Street Hockey Board issued a statement condemning the actions, vowing to take corrective steps to ensure such behavior will not be tolerated in the future. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Frenzy street hockey program said it would accept any sanctions imposed by the alliance. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the Egg Harbor Township Street Hockey program reaffirmed its stance against such disruptive conduct.
