Absecon, NJ — A new discount retailer is preparing to open in Absecon, taking over a long-vacant storefront on East Absecon Boulevard. The store, Steals & Deals, will be located at 413 E. Absecon Blvd., formerly home to a Staples location. The building has sat empty for years, but construction and signage now signal the arrival of the budget-friendly chain.
Steals & Deals is known for offering discounted prices on a wide variety of merchandise including clothing, electronics, household goods, groceries, and party supplies. It operates similarly to other discount retailers like TJ Maxx or Marshalls, providing name-brand items through overstock and liquidation channels. This will be Steals & Deals’ second New Jersey location. The company opened its first store in Toms River in 2021 at the former Bed Bath & Beyond site in the Beylea Shopping Plaza.
The new Absecon location is situated in the same plaza as Home Depot, adding another retail option to the area’s growing shopping corridor. An official opening date has not yet been announced, but signs indicate that preparations are well underway. The addition of Steals & Deals comes amid other new business announcements in Absecon, including Jersey Cow Ice Cream shop, signaling continued growth and revitalization in the area’s retail sector.
