OCEAN CITY AND CAPE MAY PREPARE FOR EASTER CELEBRATIONS

OCEAN CITY, N.J. – Ocean City is gearing up for its annual Doo Dah Parade, which will begin at noon on Saturday, April 12. The parade will feature marching bands, floats, and hundreds of basset hounds. Starting at Sixth Street and Asbury Avenue, it will proceed along Asbury Avenue to 12th Street, then turn toward the Boardwalk, finishing at Sixth Street. Former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Tommy Greene will serve as grand marshal, with an opportunity for fans to get free autographs and photos with him at the Music Pier after the parade.
Following the parade, Ocean City will host its first Great Egg Hunt from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Children up to age 7 can visit participating stores along the Boardwalk to collect eggs filled with toys and treats. A second egg hunt will take place on April 19, also from 1 to 3 p.m., with a rain date of April 20. In addition, the Easter Bunny will be at Mark Soifer Park on April 12, 13, and 19, from 9 a.m. to noon, where families can take photos with him in an Ocean City lifeguard boat.
Cape May will also celebrate the Easter season with the Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. on April 19 behind Convention Hall. Children from toddlers to age 10 can participate, and the lucky winners who find the golden egg will receive a special prize. Additionally, the annual Easter Fashion Stroll will take place at 1 p.m. on April 20 at Rotary Park. Participants can compete in various categories, including best-dressed individual, family, and Easter bonnets for both youth and adults.
