
Ventnor City, NJ -- March was a particularly active month for the Ventnor Police Department, with officers responding to 1,250 calls for service within the small, two-square-mile town. The department handled a variety of incidents, including 19 calls related to domestic violence, two vehicle burglaries, and two additional burglaries. Officers also responded to 13 traffic accidents during the month. Among the 30 arrests made, a range of charges were filed, with individuals arrested for offenses such as simple assault, shoplifting, and even arson. A significant number of arrests involved residents from Atlantic City, but individuals from outside the area were also taken into custody. On March 1, a 28-year-old man from Atlantic City was charged with two counts of simple assault. A few days later, on March 5, an 18-year-old man from Atlantic City was charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy in connection to an incident from January. Other notable arrests included a 15-year-old male from Philadelphia charged with burglary and theft, and a 48-year-old woman from Portland, Oregon, charged with arson on March 9. Several individuals were arrested for shoplifting throughout the month, including a 60-year-old man and a 61-year-old man from Atlantic City. Additionally, some arrests were related to driving offenses, with two drivers charged with driving while intoxicated on March 22. The department continues to remind the public that charges are accusations and that individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
